Description

Krill Oil is an incredibly potent source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids, with considerably high amounts of EPA and DHA.

Krill are small ocean-dwelling, shrimp like crustaceans. They typically live in the Antarctic waters of the Southern Ocean. Krill are herbivorous and are at the bottom of the food chain, meaning that they are naturally free from contaminants such as heavy metals. This product contributes to normal function of the heart*, the normal function of the brain** and the maintenance of normal vision. Three very important reasons to consider giving this supplement a try!

The Krill used in our Krill Oil is known as the Euphausia Superba, a sustainable Antarctic species. They are a fantastic source of Omega 3 Fatty Acids and naturally deep red in colour due to the Astaxanthin they contain. Astaxanthin is a carotenoid which must be consumed in the diet as the body is unable to synthesise this on its own, this prevents damage to the oil and is believed to have antioxidant properties when consumed.

Krill Oil really differs from regular Omega 3 Fish Oils is due to the presence of phospholipids. Whereas the omega fatty acids in regular fish oils are supplied in a triglyceride format, Krill Oil almost exclusively supplies the beneficial fatty acids in a phospholipid format.  Krill Oil softgels also supply Phosphatidylcholine and Choline, meaning that they contribute to normal lipid metabolism, normal homocysteine metabolism and the maintenance of normal liver function.
